Advanced Shock and Vibration (ASVR) Group

The Advance Shock and Vibration Research Group (ASVR) is situated in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Malaya. Areas of expertise are mainly vibration, dynamics, and noise. We have worked with industries through research collaborations and providing end-to-end vibration troubleshooting services, i.e., from general noise and vibration measurements to modal analysis and structural dynamic modifications (SDM). Our research areas include vibration, modal analysis, structural dynamics, structural health and condition monitoring, signal processing and instrumentation, energy harvesting, force identification, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.

Our team is led by industry-experienced academicians and consists of PhD researchers to work on both research and industry projects.

We research and develop AI-integrated solutions mainly for vibration control, structural health monitoring, and modal testing that are practical for industrial applications.

Our team is actively involved with industrial projects at semiconductor and petrochemical processing plants locally. We provide vibration troubleshooting services to structural dynamic modification (SDM) services.
